Football

Joe Beckley is a dedicated youth football coach with over 10 years of experience, following his own playing career at Junior level. Last season, Joe managed Greenock Juniors U17s and U20s, while also assisting with the First Team. His weekly commitment is exceptional—coaching multiple evenings a week and attending competitive matches on Fridays and Saturdays.

Joe also leads the Greenock Juniors Player Pathway, now in its second year, which has been instrumental in supporting boys of all abilities, helping them develop both their football skills and self-confidence. His patient, consistent coaching style has positively shaped the journeys of many young players.

The 2023/24 season was a standout, with the U17s winning both the Paisley and Johnstone District Youth Football League and the Divisional Cup—clear proof of Joe’s long-term dedication.

Joe’s tireless efforts and lasting impact make him a worthy nominee for the Inverclyde Sports Coach of the Year award.

LUCY BROADFOOT

Dance

Lucy is the teacher, choreographer, and co-owner of Lucy’s Dance Academy, established in 2018. She coaches nearly 100 dancers, from age 3 to adult, across styles including Lyrical, Acro, Jazz, and Creative Dance. Lucy fosters confidence, teamwork, and technical skill, preparing dancers to compete successfully across Scotland and beyond.

Her academy has sold out three major shows at The Beacon Theatre, with every performance ambitiously choreographed by Lucy. Her passion and dedication are evident in the high standards and creativity she brings to each class, inspiring dancers to be their best.

Lucy encourages leadership and mentorship, supporting older dancers in coaching younger ones. Several have achieved Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards through volunteering at the academy.

In February 2025, Lucy’s creative excellence was recognised when she was named Choreographer of the Year at the Fearless competition. Her impact has been transformational, building confident, passionate dancers who consistently excel

GEMMA CAMPBELL-ALEXANDER

Cheerleading/Dance

Gemma has been a dedicated coach at DM Diamondz for 15 years, volunteering an incredible 20 hours each week while also raising her two sons. Her passion and commitment to the sport are unmatched, as she gives up several days a week to coach classes and provide one-on-one sessions to support athletes preparing for regional and national competitions.

Beyond the club, Gemma has contributed choreography to Team Scotland and local pantomimes, sharing her expertise to support others. Her dedication has led to incredible success—over the past four years, athletes she has coached have represented Team Scotland at the Cheerleading World Championships in Florida, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals.

In 2024, Gemma’s own team of 10 athletes received their first bid to compete at the Worlds in two disciplines. They returned with a gold and a bronze medal, proudly putting Inverclyde on the map at the highest level of international cheerleading.

Football

Craig founded Craig Molloy Coaching C.I.C in November 2024, a community-focused social enterprise based in Inverclyde. His mission is to use the power of football to connect, inspire, and uplift individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Through this organisation, Craig has created inclusive programmes that promote physical activity, teamwork, and mental wellbeing, helping to strengthen community bonds across Inverclyde.

From grassroots sessions to community outreach initiatives, Craig’s passion for football and people is at the heart of everything the organisation does. His leadership has provided new opportunities for participation, personal development, and social connection, particularly for those who may face barriers to accessing sport.

Craig Molloy Coaching C.I.C is more than just football—it’s a platform for community engagement, confidence building, and inclusion. Craig’s vision, dedication, and drive have made a meaningful and lasting impact, using football as a tool to bring people together and change lives locally.

Athletics

Alan O’Rourke has shown outstanding dedication to Greenock Glenpark Harriers over the past decade. He leads two structured weekly sessions attracting over 50 participants, along with relaxed Sunday runs and beginner-friendly sessions, promoting inclusivity across all ability levels. Alan has been instrumental in fostering a supportive, welcoming environment that encourages new runners and helps them progress into more advanced training groups. He also offers personalized training plans for members preparing for half marathons, marathons, and ultra events, ensuring tailored support.
