RONAN GILLIES
Athletics
Ronan has burst onto the running scene this year showcasing his skills and perseverance at a number of district and national cross country events throughout this year. He started of the year with a fantastic performance at the Disability Scotland West Schools Cross Country Championships, storming his way to become regional champion.
He then went one better in April, where he was able to repeat his success, winning his first national title at the Scottish Disability Sports National Cross Country Championships.
As well as showcasing his own impressive skills, Ronan’s personal performances were only outshone by his incredible teamwork and sportsmanship, ensuring that after all his efforts, he was at the finish line to encourage and congratulate every single one of his friends and competitors.
Beyond his own personal achievements, Ronan had also played a vital part in the success of Craigmarloch’ Athletic team competing at both regional and national events throughout the year.
The entire school community couldn’t be prouder of Ronan’s success throughout the year, and based on his commitment, leadership and sportsmanship, we can’t think of anyone more fitting of this recognition.

HARRY MCCALLUM
Powerchair Football
Harry is 14 years old, from Wemyss Bay, with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Harry started playing powerchair football in January 2025 with Strathclyde Caledonia. They train twice per week in Cumbernauld.
Harry plays in the goal keeper position. During his first season (2024/25), his team finished bottom of the Scottish Powerchair Football Association Championship League, not winning a single game.
In the 2025/2026 season, through hard work and determination, Harry and his team turned their form around. In August 2025, they won the SPFA League Cup Plate during a one day tournament. During the league championship season they lead the Championship with no defeats until the final match when they were narrowly beaten to finish second in the league. In May 2026, Harry and his team won the SPFA Scottish Quaich during a two day tournament beating three other teams to claim the trophy. During the two tournaments and the league championship, Harry played in all games, without substitution.
During the 2025/26 season, Harry had the opportunity play in the Marc Biggar Memorial Cup in Belfast. He played against, international players and gained valuable experience. He has taken part in the SPFA Youth Development programme this year, training with the European Powerchair Football Association (EPFA) head referee and Scotland national team coach. He has applied to join the EPFA Youth Camp to be held in July 2026.
Harry has been fortunate to be supported by the Peter Stanton Memorial Trust for the 2025/26 season. He has also taken part in various fundraising events for the club.
I believe Harry deserves this award as he has thrown himself into this sport with all he heart, he has developed resilience and determination to greatly develop as a player. The change in him and his team between seasons is remarkable.

CRAIGMARLOCH 'INVINCIBLE' SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM
Football
Craigmarloch 'Invincible' School Football Team
This nomination could either be for the chosen category or, indeed, for Team of the Year.
Craigmarloch's Football Team competed against 5 other schools (Abercorn, Mary Russell, Woodland View, St Oswald's and Kilpatrick) across a long season and were 'Invincible'/unbeatable across the season.
The team actually only conceded 2 goals across the 15 matches played. Their achievements were celebrated by former Hearts, St Mirren and Morton player John Sutton when he came to the school to present the team with their trophy and medals.
There were fantastic individual performances from our players, including having the top goalscorer in the league and a defence/goalkeeper that were rock solid.
